Tarpon Hall of Fame Celebration Weekend

1970 Tarpon Football Team to be Inducted

Fans! Come and join us at on November 6th and 7th
for a very special Tarpon Hall of Fame Celebration weekend.
Our weekend
starts with some great Tarpon football. Watch the Fish, on
Senior night, take on the cross-town rival, Port Charlotte
Pirates, in their last district and home game of the regular
season.
At half
time, we will do our individual and team Hall of Fame
inductions. The team selection will be one of the Tarpons best
ever teams, the 1970 Tarpon Football Team which produced
Charlotte High’s first ever Coral Coast Conference, District and
Regional Championships, as well as Charlotte County’s first NFL
player, Burton Lawless.
On Saturday
at noon, all former Tarpon football players and their families
are invited to tour the new Morris Davis Strength Complex and
Tarpon Field House. We will unveil our new Tarpon football
history project that reminds today’s Tarpons of the Pride,
Family and Tradition which have been the hallmarks of Tarpon
football since 1926.
The weekend
will climax Saturday evening at Laishley Marina at 6PM with our
annual Hall of Fame Banquet that raises funds for Tarpon
Scholarships. Former and current Hall of Fame members and the
1970 team are welcome as our guests. Fans, family and friends
enjoy this annual roast and Charity Auction. This year's auction
includes some great sports items like a signed Matt LaPorta
Jersey and other Professional Jerseys and Tarpon sports
memorabilia. Cost for this banquet is $50 per person and is
limited to 75 people. Hall of Fame members attend free.
