CHS Commemorating Demolition

by Paul DeGaeta

Charlotte High School has announced it will hold a ceremony to commemorate the demolition of the old Charlotte High School campus on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at 4pm. Many people in the Charlotte community have very special and fond memories of CHS. This event is an opportunity to reflect on the past and celebrate a new beginning for Charlotte High School. Spectators may gather in the parking lot adjacent to the 3-story off Cooper Street. All the buildings that sustained damage will come down with the exception of the historic 3-story façade, the 2-story building, CPAC, the cafeteria and the Wallace Keller gym. The demolition project will take several months. All students, parents, alumni, and community members are invited to attend.
