The Charlotte County Historical Museum has served the community since 1969. Its mission is to educate people of all ages about Florida and Charlotte County in a hands-on, interactive environment. Changing exhibits explore topics related to state and local history, Florida natural history and the sciences. The Center is located at 22959 Bayfront Road in Port Charlotte. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under.

The John and Mable Ringling Brother's Museum of Art in its affiliation with Florida State University is the largest museum/university complex in the nation. The Museum is located at the intersection of US 41 and University Parkway just south of the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.
